From April 22 to June 3 (every Thursday), the Regional Training to measure SDG 16 in Latin America and the Caribbean was organized by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), through its Center of Excellence, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR). The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) also participated.

There was a large participation: 1,670 people from 44 countries (of which 28 from the region) registered and an average of 500 people participated throughout the 7 sessions, with gender parity among participants. 47 panelists and moderators presented during the training on measuring progress on Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16 indicators in Latin America and the Caribbean. The objective was to strengthen the technical capacities of different institutions and coordination between data producers and users to generate, analyze and disseminate SDG 16 indicators and promote a “data community” that allows for the exchange of experiences and challenges.
