Local Security Audit is going on in the municipality of Querétaro
During the week 17-21 July, the Center of Excellence on Statistics on Governance, Public Safety, Victimization and Justice, together with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime of Colombia, carried out ten focal groups in some priority neighborhoods of the municipality of Querétaro. Exploratory walks were realized and surveys were submitted to each of the participants of this step of the Local Security Audit that is being carried out at the same time in Querétaro, Cartagena in Colombia and Durban in South Africa.
Citizens, community leaders from civic engagement committees, neighborhood committees and parents’ associations participated during the days. The objective of the field work is to know from the very first source the needs detected by the communities as part of the framework of human security and sustainable development promoted by the United Nations System.
We are grateful for the great support of the Directorate for Crime Prevention and Citizen Involvement of the Municipal Public Security Secretariat of Santiago de Querétaro (SSPMQ), the Comprehensive Social Prevention Center IV and the Basic Education Services Unit in the State of Querétaro (USEBEQ) for carrying out this step of the Local Security Audit.
