Statistical personnel of Panama are trained to process databases of the Panama’s first National Survey on Victimization and Perception of Public Security (ENVIP 2017)

On January 23th – February 3th 2017, experts from the Center of Excellence in Statistical Information on Government, Crime, Victimization and Justice in collaboration with the Office of Integral Security (OSEGI), within the framework of the Project for Security Cooperation with Panama (SECOPA), strengthened the statistical analysis capabilities of officials of the following institutions: Social Security Box (CSS),  Judicial Investigation Directorate (DIJ), San Miguel Arcangel Hospital (HSMA), Santo Tomas Hospital (HST), Institute for Interdisciplinary Studies (IEI), National Institute of Statistics and Census (INEC)Ministry of Education (MEDUCA), Government Ministry, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MIREX), Ministry of Health (MINSA), Ministry of Public Security,
Municipality of Panama, Municipality of San Miguelito, UNODC Regional Office for Central America and the Caribbean in Panama (UNODC ROPAN), National Aeronautic Service (SENAN), National Border Service (SENAFRONT) and the National Migration Service.
The purpose of this training was to present different statistical packages and their use for the processing of the database of the National Survey of Victimization and Perception of Public Security of Panama (ENVIP 2017), the results of which will be made public at the end of the month of March.
