Focus groups with the Preventive Police of Queretaro in the framework of the Local Safety Audit to improve safety in the municipality
From 1st to 3rd of August, the Center of Excellence in Statistical Information on Government, Crime, Victimization and Justice (CoE), carried out focus groups with police from the Municipal Secretariat of Public Security of Queretaro. The different areas that participated in these groups were: Proximity Police, Municipal Preventive Police, Municipal Guard, the Specialized Unit for Attention to Intrafamily Violence and Gender Violence (UNESVIG), the Coordination of Crime Prevention, the Accidents and Infractions Department, Tactical K-9 Unit, Anti-riot Police, Motorized Immediate Reaction Group (GRIM) and Tourist Police.
The information collected during the focus groups, will be useful for the Participatory Social Diagnosis, part of the Local Safety Audit. The main security concerns of the Municipality were discussed from the perspective of the police, who also pointed out some opportunity areas to improve municipal security.
