5th Meeting of the Center of Excellence Advisory Committee

On June 3, 2018, the 5th Meeting of the Advisory Committee of the Center of Excellence in Statistical Information on Government, Crime, Victimization and Justice (CoE) was held. The Advisory Committee guides the activities of the Center of Excellence in order to ensure the relevance and quality of its products, suggesting new relevant activities, areas of opportunity and research areas.

The Advisory Committee is made up of the following institutions, leaders in the statistical field: the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), the National Institute of Statistics of Italy (ISTAT), the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Organization of American States (OAS), Tilburg Law School, and the University of Maryland.

In this 5th meeting, a historical account was made of the activities and achievements of the Center of Excellence in its 7 years of hard work. Unanimously, the Advisory Committee recognized the work of the team, which has positioned the Center as a statistical reference in security and justice in the region and internationally. Likewise, the approach that the Center should promote for the development of its activities in the coming years was defined.
