The Center of Excellence launches an open call for the 7th International Theses Competition on Public Safety, Victimization and Justice in Latin America and the Caribbean

For seventh occasion, we launched the open call for the 7th International Theses Competition on Public Safety, Victimization and Justice in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Competition will be different this year, the topics prioritized will have to be related to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development  specially the 16 Sustainable Development Goal (16 SDG) “Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions” which is dedicated to the promotion of peaceful and inclusive societies, ante the provision of access to justice for all.

Like others years, we are looking for theses by students and researchers committed to carry out innovative analysis to provide knowledge, contribute with new lines of research and generate recommendations of public policies through the use of statistical data.

In addition to the topics appearing in the call, this year new topics are included, such as:

  • Illicit financial flows
  • Physical, psychological or sexual violence
  • Prison population
  • Poaching or illegal wildlife trade
  • Measuring corruption in homes and businesses

The Competition is geared to the three levels of higher education: Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctorate, the awards for each category are:

  • Bacherlor’s: $30,000 mexican pesos
  • Master´s $50,000 mexican pesos
  • Doctorate $80,000 mexican pesos

The 7th competition is open to Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctorate graduate students from any country, that had obtained their degree after February 2015.

The theses will be received from October 16 2017 until 23:59 hours (Mexico City time) of January 31st 2018.
