Presentation of preliminary results of the Law for the Regulation of the Sale and Consumption of Alcohol in the State of Coahuila de Zaragoza

On the 3rd of March, the Center of Excellence in Statistical Information on Government, Crime, Victimization and Justice of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (CoE-UNODC), presented preliminary results from the Impact Assessment of the implementation of the Law for the Regulation of the Sale and Consumption of Alcohol in the State of Coahuila de Zaragoza, which was published in the Official Newspaper of the State Government on September 18th , 2012 , with a final reform on August 9, 2016. Officials from the Technical and Planning Secretariat, the Attorney Office for Children and Family, and the Executive Secretariat of the State Public Security Council, were present.

Among the presentation of preliminary results, the importance of analysing the consumption and sale of alcohol from different areas in order to have a broad view on the multiple causes and effects that this phenomenon entails, and was emphasized having an evidence-based approach and the revision of official sources of statistical information.
