Group of statistical experts in Guatemala receive training in victimization surveys

On December 12th – 14th 2016, the Center of Excellence in Statistical Information on Government, Crime, Victimization and Justice delivered a training course on victimization surveys to representatives of different statistical units of the Security and Justice System, Civil Society and Academy. This course falls into collaborative framework with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) through the INFOSEGURA project.

Association of Research and Social Studies (ASIES), Center for Research in Urban Health (CISU), Public Criminal Defense, General Directorate of Migration (DGM), General Directorate of the Penitentiary System, Institute of Education for Sustainable Development (IEPADES), National Institute of Forensic Sciences of Guatemala (INACIF), National Institute of Statistics, International Republican Institute (IRI), Head of Strategic Planning and Institutional Development (JEPEDI), Ministry of Social Development (MIDES), Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MINEX), Ministry of Education (MINEDUC), Prosecutors Office, National Transit Observatory (ONSET / transit), Attorney General of the Nation (PGN), Attorney for Human Rights (PDH), Secretariat of Social Welfare (SBS), Secretariat of Planning and Programming (SEGEPLAN), Presidential Secretariat for Women (SEPREM), Technical Secretariat National Security Council (STCNS), Unit for Community Prevention of Violence (UPCV / MINGOB), University of the Valley of Guatemala (UVG).

This training informed relevant actors in understanding the importance of generate and use data that contribute to the development of evidence based policy making. During the sessions, there was a review of the methodology and the questionnaire that will be used in the National Survey of Perception of Public Safety and Victimization (ENPEVI 2017).
