The development of crime and justice statistics and their contribution to the monitoring of the Sustainable Development Goals in Asia and the Pacific

From the 14th to the 16th of November 2016, experts and officials from various institutions in Finland, the United States, Azerbaijan, Russia, Afghanistan, the Philippines, Australia, Vietnam, China, Sri Lanka, East Timor, Bhutan, Pakistan, Laos, Indonesia, Cambodia, Myanmar, Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan, Maldives and Kazakhstan participated in the 2nd Regional Forum on Security and Criminal Justice Statistics organized by the Korean Institute of Criminology, the Institute of Justice of Thailand and UNODC, held in Seoul, Korea.

During this meeting, the Center of Excellence presented the vision of the roadmap for the improvement of crime and criminal justice statistics adopted by the United Nations Statistical Commission and the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice. Included in the presentation were the ways in which the Center focuses its activities to promote the vision outlined in the roadmap, through technical assistance, training and the exchange of good practices in the Latin American region.
