Objective: This conference is part of the vision of the “Roadmap for the Improvement of Crime Statistics at the National and International Levels,” jointly approved by the United Nations Statistical Commission and the United Nations Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice. Held every two years, this international conference provides an opportunity to discuss and follow up on the three pillars of the roadmap: methodological development; institutional capacity building; and improvement of data collection at the national, regional, and international levels.
