International standards exchange with PERU to measuring crime phenomenon and security perception

On September 23rd, the Center of Excellence in Statistical Information on Government, Crime, Victimization and Justice (CoE) of UNODC began a process to exchange international standards with the Ministry of Interior of Peru.

The General Direction of Information for Security thought the National Observatory of Citizenship Security, collects, process, systematizes, analysis and broadcast citizenship security information in Peru for the design, implementation and monitoring of evidence based security policies.  The Direction has identified the necessity to strengthen the data collection process as well as methodological issues.

The Ministry of Interior asked the Center of Excellence technical orientation due to its large experience strengthening the technical capacities of the institutions that generate statistics on crime and justice in the region. This first session was focus on international standards to measure homicide and feminicide and to measure security perception.
