The Public Security Management System of Uruguay receives an “A” grade in its Statistical Quality Assessment

On November 28 and 29, the team of the Center of Excellence for Statistical Information on Government, Public Security, Victimization and Justice (CoE) presented the final report of the results of the Statistical Quality Assessment carried out on the Public Security Management System (SGSP) to various areas of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Uruguay such as the Undersecretariat, the Directorate of Information Systems and the Unified Command Center.

The CoE presented the results of the statistical quality assessment, highlighting the strengths and good practices identified in the SGSP. The recommendations to be implemented in the period 2020-2022 by the Ministry of the Interior with technical assistance from the Center of Excellence were also reviewed. Therefore, joint work will continue to strengthen the methodological rigour of the information generated and adherence to the Fundamental Principles of Official Statistics of the United Nations. This exercise has been promoted by the Inter-American Development Bank.
