The information provided by people contributes to generate focused strategies to improve security in the Municipality of Queretaro.

From September 30 to October 2, the Centre of Excellence in Statistical Information on Government, Crime, Victimization and Justice (CdE) gave a training course on “Social Diagnostics for Decision-Making”. This activity is part of the building capacities activities for the Secretariat of Public Security of the Municipality of Querétaro (SSPMQ), derived from the first Local Safety Audit carried out in Mexico in the framework of the project “Evidence-based policies for the improvement of community security in Latin American and African cities”.

Thirty officials from the Secretariat reinforced their knowledge in the preparation of social diagnoses based on different techniques for collecting qualitative and cartographic information, as well as its systematization and analysis as an input for decision-making in the areas of security and crime prevention.

The Centre of Excellence will continue to strengthen the capacities of the Secretariat of Public Security of the Municipality of Queretaro and will monitor the progress and impact of the implementation of the recommendations made to the municipality as result of this first Local Safety Audit.
