Guadalajara joins the Local Safety Audits (ALS) in the Mexican context to improve public security policies

Through a meeting held on February 6, representatives of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the Municipal Government of Guadalajara and the Public Security Commissariat of Guadalajara, formalized the activities of the Local Safety Audit that will be carried out in this city. Besides, this collaboration will look for the strengthening of the institutional liaisons and of the local public policies in matter of security and crime prevention.

This audit will be carried out through the Center of Excellence for Statistical Information on Government, Public Safety, Victimization and Justice (CdE), whose team began making a diagnosis of the Divisions and areas of the Guadalajara Police Station.

The Center of Excellence will continue visiting Guadalajara Police Station to strengthen the institutional capacities analysis, and, in cooperation with the Intelligence Division, join efforts to improve criminal analysis and the use of statistical information in police interventions.
